Wanderlist

Because I have been browsing too many travel blogs lately, I felt the urge to create this list. In the spirit of being realistic, I’ll name ten dream destinations in the meantime. In five or ten years time, I hope to review this list in retrospect and tick every single item.

1. Concepcion, Iloilo

Need I say more? I saw this and other photos at exploreiloilo.com and I died.

2. Talisay, Bacolod City

Because I am an old soul in the 21st century. I also want to see Bacolod for the old churches.

3 and 4. Dumaguete City and Siquijor

Whenever I tell someone that I want to visit Siquijor, they always let out a laugh and ask if I am looking for a mystic potion. Can’t I have other reasons?

5. Biri Island, Samar

I’ve been told that this is the perfect playground for landscape photographers. Well, I am no landscape photographer but this definitely is a nice playground for me.

6. Islas de Gigantes, Carles, Iloilo

The more I read from exploreiloilo.com, the more I want to stay there for a month.

7. Batanes

I feel like I can get closer to heaven just by looking at this picture. Take me there.

8 and 9. Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur

I have always been dreaming of a Laoag-Pagudpud-Vigan trip. And never go back.

10. Surigao Region

Bucas Grande, Sohoton, Siargao, Cortes, Hinatuan.. These are just some of the places I want to see in Surigao Del Norte and Surigao del Sur. Oh Surigao Province, how I long to know the corners of your place.

As I was nearing the end of the list, I thought of many other places that I want to visit - Palawan, Sulu, Caramoan. But nah, these are the top 10 that captured my heart. On second thought, this can easily be renamed as “Ten More Reasons To Work Harder”. So help me God.

It was like the classic scene in the movies where one lover is on the train and one is on the platform and the train starts to pull away, and the lover on the platform begins to trot along and then jog and then sprint and then gives up altogether as the train speeds irrevocably off. Except in this case I was all the parts: I was the lover on the platform, I was the lover on the train. And I was also the train. – Lorrie Moore, A Gate at the Stairs (via larmoyante)
The Things I Tell Myself Every Morning
  1. When everything seems to be held together by a safety pin, you have to unload your burden on Someone who is the Source of all strength.
  2. If you’re running out of patience on someone, think of the many other people who have extended an extra mile of their patience for you.
  3. Good things come to those who wait; great things happen to those who get sh*t done.
  4. You attract what you entertain. Sadness begets sadness. Bliss welcomes more bliss. Your feelings, your choice.
  5. Starve your ego. Feed your soul.
  6. If you already forgot how to have fun, you might as well be dead.
  7. In case you haven’t noticed, your 25 years of existence have earned you a set of antidotes for each feeling. Your antidote to sleepiness is black coffee. Your antidote to sudden sadness is a happy thought — your fat baby cousin. If you’re worried, finish this sentence: “At least I have _________.”
  8. Your work is not a job. Because you are in the business of helping, inspiring and motivating other people, learn to ractice what you preach. You can’t give what you don’t have in yourself.
  9. Bad news: Not everything is under your control. Great news: Everything is under His control.
  10. And if all these maxims still don’t rub off, keep your thoughts to yourself. The world has enough trouble, never advertise your pain.

And I have to stop here and get going with my day and the rest of my life. Let’s get it on! :)
